(no subject)

Last night I met someone online who employs the same (bad) conversational techniques as I do.. the meta-conversation, the unrelated setence just to throw people, the abrupt termination of a conversation when no one can think of what to say... talking to him is like talking to myself except he's much much further down that track.. it's kinda scary, and shows me a 'me' that I'm trying to leave behind.

I don't wear the cheese, the cheese wears me.

what's a meta-conversation?

conversing about conversing. An example would be commenting on the awkward silence

Whoops, that was me on a friends account by accident

Why are you trying to leave part of yourself behind? What change are you aiming for?

I might elaborate on this in a later post, but basically he's extremely depressed and nihilistic. Those conversational tactics that I mention are signs of difficulty with the conventions of social interation.
