Book shopping
Mar. 6th, 2008 10:22 pmI shouldn't be allowed into bookstores. Today I accompanied a friend into some secondhand bookstores in Paddington in search of a certain fashion book for her. At least that was the plan. What ended up happening was her looking by herself for the fashion books while I was reminded yet again how interesting everything is and how even though it would take several lifetimes for me to read all those books a large part of me would love to try.
I managed not to buy anything, but only because all the books cost too much in my opinion, with the sole exception being a book about various mythologies that look fairly boring and not worth the shelf space. From now on I think I'd be safer sticking to libraries. The borrowing limits would make it harder for me to waste too much money and time on it.
Oh yeh, I was also amused at how all the bookstores had a section labelled 'Esoteric Beliefs' that included various astrologies and so forth. I'd be so pissed off if I discovered a book about something I believed in in that section.
