hehe what an interesting day today turned out to be..

I woke up in a fairly crappy mood. My meeting with him yesterday was still really bugging me and affected me badly... for nearly the whole day i found myself really irritable and short tempered, which i thought i'd more or less gotten over since last year. bleh >_<

Got to SSDI lecture and managed to sit next to Carmen and Gina, both people who i haven't really spoken to in ages, so that was cool :) Unfortunately SSDI was not.. he spent the whole hour and a half talking about makefiles and svn, neither of which i know anything about :( I learnt almost nothing from that lecture..
Afterwards i went to talk to Strider, Matt Fraser, and Andrew Boyton to arrange my seng group with them. We registered ourselves as The Flying Mongooses after Mitch unwisely suggested it as our team name ^_^

Then Strider kinda grafted himself onto me >_< and we went to Coffee on Campus, where i had a nice long chat with Cec about men (what else? :p). She has some interesting plans for the future i must say.. good luck to her and i hope for her sake they work out. Then Danny turned up and we headed off to our 2 hour AI lecture.. with Strider in tow >_< For almost the whole lecture i was really harsh to him too but he didn't seem to be getting the hint, because when Danny and I ditched it halfway through because the guy was too waffly (for gods sake, if we could have a 5 minute conversation about coding chess algorithms and come back to the lecture at hand to find we missed nothing, there's probably something wrong with the lecture style..) he decided to accompany us... again.. so we headed to Lab 0 and i managed to lose myself in the crowd of first years and people helping them, to go find Ali and Hein.

We decided to go check out the new incarnation of Zest! which was this weird and cultish but kinda cool and fun world music choir thing... we thought it might be cooler this year because the hippy guy who used to run it isn't at uni anymore *thanks god*. Unfortunately.. it felt even weirder and more cultish than ever.. like when Rhonda asked us to sway from side to side while we were singing... such a WTF moment i swear... and the people there this year are almost all a) weird b) can't sing for shit or c) all of the above... anyway it was kinda fun tho. Singing can give such a natural high ^_^

Then... i went to Compsoc and Sesoc meetings. I dunno whose bright idea it was to put them consecutively.. grrr lol. Not a whole lot happened in those other than the usual stuff.. we're having murder@cse soon and a dvd night next week.. lotsa society stuff as usual.

And now for the other cool event of my evening and what put me in a :) mood hahaha.. i was on the 400 and noticed this guy get on who i see around CSE a fair bit. At Bondi Junction i got off and sat down while waiting for the 387 and the guy sits next to me and strikes up a convo :p Now bear in mind that we'ves seen eachothers faces around quite a bit (after a while you get to recognise most of the ppl who haunt the labs during the day) but we had no real idea who the heck the other person was.. LOL. This guy Nick lives on the 387 bus route too so we had a bit of a chat until we reached his stop.. he studies comp sci/law, he knows Matt Lee (the only other comp sci/law person i know) and tutored Higher Comp 1a the year that i studied it..
Funny how life is full of bizarre moments like this :p People who you see almost every day of your life but just never bother to take the time to meet... kudos to him for taking the first step i guess
