hmm so what have i been up to lately..
on valentine's day i arranged to meet up with zhe at bondi junction. So as i'm going to go meet him who should i see but my old school buddies Jess and Eliza. Jess has been up to her usual antics, sleeping in the same bed as some guy while she was in Melbourne (but they didn't have sex, they only 'messed around', so its all ok according to her :p). She also made me want to deck her by doing her usual "oooooo who's this zhe? is he your booooooyfriend?". We chatted until Eliza went to Jess "what time were we meant to go to lunch again?", and i took that as my cue to leave them. And of course as i walked away Eliza goes "we must catch up!". ffs. It seriously annoys me that people are so fake all the time in social situations and yet if i decline to play the same game i'll no doubt be labelled as rude or at best blunt. *stops myself before i can go into a full rant about the bullshit of social interaction*
So then i went and met up with zhe, and we went to look at games at EB and ooh and aah at the cute little baby animals at pets paradise ^_^ We then went to meet up with Ali and her cousin and friends from Malaysia, and wandered around bondi junction looking for scrapbooking stuff for Ali. All in all twas pretty fun :)
On wednesday I met up with Hein Zhe and Simon in the city so that we could drive to Ali's for a bbq at her place. On the way there the car started shuddering a but.. we were like "uh-oh.." so zhe pulled over somewhere in Cammeray to try to fix the car. He looked at the level of oil in the tank and decided that it looked really low, so he gets the oil container out of the back and pours in the entire contents, around a litre or two... Then we all get back in and try to start the car...clouds of white-ish smoke started billowing and we were like WTF. So then Hein decided to call Dicky to see if he knew anything that could help us. Dicky said that with the oil you had to make sure that it was higher than minimum and lower than maximum.. so we were like ok.. maybe we need more oil.. the level is still pretty low. So zhe goes and buys a 5L container of oil and proceeds to pour all of that in too. We then try to start the car again.. more white smoke billows out. At this point some random across the road yelled at us that the muffler was broken, so then me Hein and Simon all got out to push the car down the road to the nearest Shell station (about 20m luckily for us :p). Some random guy who Hein and Simon think was hot came to help us get it up the ramp to the station proper.
Now.. the lesson in car maintenance for today is: those notches on the oil stick thingy are there for a reason (nb. they're really low down on the stick). It turns out that we had just completely drowned the engine in about 7L of oil.. that was the cause of the billowing smoke.. and we STILL didn't know what was wrong originally with the car. We had to leave Zhe's car with the station ppl so that they could drain the oil out... so then we called Vincent and arranged for him to pick us up. When he got there it turned out there wasn't enough room for all of us so he and Mark Bradley had to go home and come back in two separate cars >_< (sorry..)
Finally we all got to Ali's and had a really yummy indoor bbq :) Then we played Canasta for a bit while watching Sin City, and finally we learnt how to play Mah Jong before me Zhe and Ching grabbed a ride to the station with Vincent.
hmm.. the next eventful day for me was Saturday.. went to see Syriana with Zhe before we went to archery. The movie was good but a lot of it kinda went over my head >_< like.. two of the events at the end just appeared to have no reason to them.. I'm sure it was explained somehow but i was having a stupid day i guess.. bleh
And no one else turned up for archery :p Was kinda fun in some ways, it meant we could shoot entirely at our own pace and talk all kinds of crap. On the other hand.. archery is so dying >_< stupid VSU..
Coming up: Oweek. meh, i'm kinda not really looking forward to this.. manning stalls is so boring most of the time :( But it has to be done and stuff.. also i was too lazy to get my student card earlier so that means i get to stand in line for aaages sometime this week.. and at some point i gotta open a commonwealth account.. and i'm supposed to be meeting with Matt sometime this week or next.. thats the real reason for not looking forward to it >_< *sighs* I guess i'm kinda looking forward to getting back to uni tho.. i need something to distract me from the crumminess of my life.
