oweek and stuff
Feb. 25th, 2006 01:27 pmthings i have learnt this week:
* cadbury boost bars are nice, but are much too sweet to eat on a hot day. Doing so will lead to feeling sick. Especially if they are half-melted.
* likewise, eating 4 bars in one day will *really* make me feel sick.
* there are worse things than becoming a mentor and not being assigned a mentee. For example, being assigned a kid who spends the entire scavenger hunt trying to prove he's nerdier-than-thou. And then keeping a straight face when the kid asks at one point "am i being too loud?". If said kid is reading this because he's already on the intarweb way too much to be healthy, i have something to say to you: people in cse will not be impressed by your nerdity. I don't care if you read bash.org, what your preferred programming language is, how many webcomics you read, or what amazing program you use to do whatever it is you like to do. Also, i would dearly love to take your mentor's suggestion of finding out whether you are familiar with certain sites whose domains contain .cx, but the ethics and morals of being a mentor prevent me from doing so. Fortunately for you i might add.
* according to someone from scotland, i sound like i come from london. She was rather surprised when she found out i'm australian :p Last time something similar happened the person thought i was canadian.. and i still dunno in general why i have an accent, since no one else in my family does and no one close to me does (until i met hein anyways)
* running away from people at parties can be more fun than dancing at said party
* watching spading happening is likewise amusing. As is watching some random guy look like he's trying to unobtrusively grind one of your friends from behind. Dancefloors are amusing places.
* akmal saleh is cool. So is nick sun.
* david ling does not know the meaning of the word machiavellian. This amuses me greatly.
