This afternoon i went to Piano Stories 3, held at the Conservatorium of Music by Eminence Orchestra. And damn it was good. Alexey Yemtsov is still a piano god, especially with Decisive Battle from FFX, which now has this amazing nostalgia value for me cos its the first piece he was involved in that really got my attention. Hiroaki Yura is a terrible MC, but he's kinda cute and more importantly he can play violin really well. Ayako Ishikawa looks like she stepped straight out of an anime (FFX to be precise.. http://www.driftingheart.net/yuna/media/offart/cg01.jpg well her face looks like Yuna anyway, her dress was quite anime-ish too but not like that at all, it was a really flowy white skirt sort of thing which a black and white bodice which drew way too much attention to her breasts (but i suppose that's kinda the point)). She also looks like she's having a fight with her violin when she plays but she too is an awesome violinist so I shall forgive her (this time).
My favourite pieces were Vamo'alla Flamenco, the ending theme of FFX, Those that fight, and Ami and Two of Us (best violin duets evar, nice supporting piano too). Oh and how could i forget Decisive Battle. OMG. He played it for the encore too.

While I was there i had a good look around at the people since I know quite a few people who I expected to be at one of the performances. Well I didn't end up seeing Gavin but I did see Min'an with his gf, and Sandy's brother (who shall hereafter be known as Sandstone because I still don't know his actual name, despite the fact that he seems to know mine. I hate it when the name thing is one-sided) with his gf too.

To top off my evening, on the way back to Circular Quay to catch a bus home, a drunken guy from a wedding party tried to convince me to accompany him and the others. He was quite cute, pity about the whole drunken thing or i might have been tempted to take him up on it :p

On the bus home a couple of traffic controllers got on. Now what got me was the company name on the front of their neon-orange outfits. Retro Traffic. No wonder the roads in Sydney are terrible :p

And so ends my evening out. And in other news, its damn cold in here.

Hmm.. what else has been happening lately in my life.. well on Thursday I finally wore my whole goth ensemble. I really really like it I must say. If I had a spare $200 or so I would go invest in a whole goth wardrobe. Rupert asked me why I was dressed like a witch, but its nothing I wasn't already thinking so wah to him if he was hoping for some reaction.
