Crossing paths
May. 3rd, 2007 03:28 pmWell, today has been an odd day to say the least.
It started out at work, where I was chatting with this girl from the deli who I've become somewhat friendly with. And suddenly it comes out that not only did she go to UNSW, but she graduated from Comp Eng only last year or so! Anyway, she just got her PR and will soon be looking for a grad job, so I guess it's goodbye to Coles for her. And we never saw eachothre around in labs and stuff despite being both being in CSE for the last 3 years or so. Boo to that.
Then I went to my Software Construction lecture only to be called in the middle of it by work. And at this point my phone decided to communicate to me that it's dying, by allowing me to receive the call but not actually talk to or hear the person at the other end. This has been an occasional problem in the past so I knew that the phone was still essentially fine, it was just being gay about inbound calls. So I needed to leave the lecture to call work back, and got up to do so.. and sort of fell/slid down the stairs.. very awkward when the lecturer is still talking and you're trying not to disrupt the lecture too much with your exit.
After that I decided that I was having a picky day with my food (sort of the opposite of the hungry days I get more often :p) and that I wanted to go to Randwick for a Boost. I'm no more than a minute outside the uni when who should I bump into but my Israeli househunting friend from several months ago. Anyway, turns out he managed to find a place down in Botany for himself and his family, $700/week but I spose he can afford that.
And then I went to Randwick and got sold a Boost by Seb, the ex-best-friend of my brother, and who is nevertheless still quite friendly to me despite declaring my brother as his mortal enemy. And that was the least odd part of my day, since I already knew he worked there and have been served by him in the past.
I wonder if anything else will happen to me on the way home.
