In the last few years I have had terrible luck with anything involving computers. For example, I have owned 4 different mp3 players over 4 years, and I have yet to get one to survive unscathed for more than 9 months at most. Then there's the computers. I bought a computer from a friend, which promptly didn't work. When I took it to the computer repair shop they said the motherboard was dead. Then the replacement, which worked for a little while until it started bluescreening on boot up. One reformat later, and it sort of worked, except that the screen would black out for a second or two sometimes, eventually leading to the computer bluescreening and dumping physical memory when the graphics card got stuck in an infinite loop. And then it stopped booting altogether, refusing even to POST. Word is that the graphics card, which was actually the newest part of the computer, needs to be replaced. That's okay, I thought, at least I still have this nifty laptop given to me by my sister, and it seems to work just fine. Two weeks later and the hard drive is dead, with a decent amount of code on it as well. Luckily I'd backed up the bulk of the code a couple of hours earlier or else I'd be in serious trouble, seeing as the relevant project is due in about an hour. But now I also have to deal with a lack of home computer again.

There isn't really a point to this, I'm just whinging because I'm feeling too unmotivated to do anything else right now. It would be really nice if I could have a personal piece of electronics that didn't die on me within half a year, that's all.
