I should use my memory for good instead of evil.

Also I should work on saying what I mean rather than saying something one or two steps from what I mean and expecting the other person to connect the dots. No matter how obvious the connection seems to me, this does not mean that the other person will get it. It's pure laziness on my part to say the 'obvious' thing instead of the correct thing.

The Kevin Mitnick principle: Act like you belong somewhere and nine times out of ten no one will question your right to do so. This can be applied to most social interactions.

I so need to work on that... :)

Men don't take subtle hints
Men don't take obvious hints
Just tell them what you want :P

Of course this only applies to guys, I'm sure girls can easily pick up any hints.

I am quite sure she doesn't mean that. :) I'm a girl and I don't pick up on that sort of hinting well at all; it annoys me just as I imagine it annoys many guys.

What I think she is referring to is a problem common to INTPs. We assume that the logic in our heads is blindingly obvious (because it is to us), so we say things that hint at our actual point and expect others to pick up what we actually mean.

Haha yeah, this time there was no hinting involved at all.

When other people hint at me I either don't pick it up or get all stubborn and contrary because if they want me to do something I wish they would just come out and say it already.

And then I go and do the same thing myself, giving everyone answers that must seem incredibly evasive or at worst completely unrelated to the question.

Actual example: A friend was musing on how they transport electricity through the power lines. So, with V=IR in mind I made some comment about the current being low, meaning that the voltage was high. Two minutes later my friend makes the comment about voltage that I meant, leading to a bemused "Didn't I just say that?" from me

I often did the same thing, sometimes because of laziness,
sometimes to test people intelligence
