Despite the horrendously large price ($30) to get in, i had good fun today :)
The cosplays this year were somewhat disappointing I have to admit. The only ones that stood out:
a guy from Full Metal Panic Fumoffu
a group from Ultima Online of all things
a massive group representing all the major couples from all the Final Fantasies who had a really good skit involving the waltz from FF8
a smaller group representing Cid Cloud and Vincent from FF Advent Children.. although twas amusing because Cloud's sword was too heavy for her to hold properly :p
There were also a few really disturbing cosplays.. such as the catgirl who wore a kimono and cat ears and carried a sign in her mouth saying "pat the catgirl"
And in the good advent children group Vincent decided to pash Cloud.. granted that Cloud was being played by a girl but still.. Vincent x Cloud isn't one of the things you expect to see in a cosplay :|
Also there were far too many cosplayers, around 80 or so. By the end of it i really didn't care who won anymore
Watched a couple of episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist and Ikki Tousen, both of which are good enough to make me want to watch more.
Fullmetal Alchemist is good ol' adventure/magic/humour combo, about a couple of brothers who are alchemists and want to fix their disfigured bodies.
Ikki Tousen is.. interesting. On the one hand its a fighting/humour anime about the spirits of legendary fighters who get passed down to schoolkids, who then fight eachother. One of the most fierce spirits has fallen to a really stupid ditzy girl, who nevertheless manages to kick ass. On the other hand it's gratuitous fanservice the whole way through, with panties and/or boobs shown at least once a minute.
In other news, i have a mad idea for a drinking game involving Ikki Tousen :p
